Spectacular footage shows dozens of giant clams on the seabed in the Philippines.

Free diver Jmee Tiu explored the underwater world of massive shellfish in Panglao, Bohol, on July 3.

The Tridacnids can be seen standing upright, scattered across the marine floor in the blue ocean.

Jmee sat on the seafloor, surrounded by the giant clams to pose for pictures, before swimming back to the surface.

The Philippines is home to seven of the world's nine giant clam species, including the massive Tridacna gigas, which can grow over 1.2 metres wide and live for more than 100 years.

These endangered clams play a vital role in reef ecosystems by filtering water and providing habitat. Conservation programmes are actively working to protect and restore their populations.
