Can't miss that Zoom call! Woman carries on working from home in knee-deep floods
A diligent employee continued her shift from home despite being surrounded by rising floodwater.
Call centre agent Salvacion Caunsag remained on the video line with a customer as murky water entered her bedroom in Cavite, the Philippines, on July 22.
Footage shows her calmly seated on an office chair in front of her computer, wearing a headset, and focused on assisting the client with their concern.
She did not move away from her post even as the deluge rose to knee level inside the room, determined to finish her task before attending to the worsening conditions.
She said: ‘I was working from home during the flood. It almost reached my seat, but I kept focused on my tasks.
‘It was a stressful moment, but I tried to stay calm and keep going. A flood in real life is unexpected and challenging. We have to be resilient.'
Salvacion packed up her belongings after work and put them in a safer spot, including her computer and work equipment.
Floods from the torrential rains in the aftermath of Typhoon Wipha caused chaos in the capital, Manila. More than 60,000 people have been evacuated from their homes and at least seven people have been killed.
The Philippine National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said several residents are still missing in the deluge.
