India: Stampede caused by falling of electric wire in Barabanki Avasaneshwar temple, two dead, 29 devotees injured

A stampede at Awsaneshwar Mahadev temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district claimed two lives and left 29 injured during a Sawan ‘Jalabhishek’ ritual.

The chaos was triggered by an electric shock caused by a broken wire after monkeys jumped onto it, sparking panic among devotees. The incident occurred around 2 AM.
