Tourists flee as storm tears through hotel swimming pool
This is the dramatic moment tourists fled as a storm tore through a hotel swimming pool in Thailand.
Footage shows holidaymakers rushing to shelter indoors as powerful gusts blew through the Sand Sea Resort near Railay Beach in Krabi, on July 20.
Gales blasted the outdoor pool, blowing away dust and leaves as staff scrambled to secure tables and chairs.
Onlooker Kwankamon Phuangkhajorn said: 'We were surprised by how strong and sudden the storm was. I was indoors, but I felt sorry for those outside who were hit by the strong winds.'
The incident occurred as Typhoon Wipha was approaching Thailand, bringing heavy rains to the northern and central parts of the country.
Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are also in their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
