US, Los Angeles: Santa Clarita Teens Assaulted at Park Video Circulating on Social Media
Los Angeles, United States - August 03, 2025 08/02/2025 11:05 pm GMT-0700 SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Disturbing footage of a violent assault involving two teenagers has ignited outrage among Santa Clarita homeowners already frustrated by months of lawlessness at a local park. The video, which began circulating widely on social media Sunday morning, appears to show a teenage boy smashing a glass bottle over another teen’s head during a chaotic gathering at Pacific Crest Park in the city’s Saugus neighborhood. The violence unfolded just after 10:45 p.m. Saturday, prompting a flood of 911 calls from residents near the 29000 block of Garnet Canyon Drive, reporting a crowd of nearly 200 juveniles allegedly drinking and breaking bottles in the closed park. Shortly after 11 p.m., additional calls reported at least one — possibly two — teens suffering from head trauma. The injured teens were reportedly taken to a trauma center for treatment. Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Station responded to the park, where they found a chaotic scene littered with alcohol containers and shattered glass. Several teens were detained and issued curfew citations. The teenager suspected of carrying out the assault was tracked down minutes later at an In-N-Out Burger located in the 26400 block of Bouquet Canyon Road. Deputies conducted a felony traffic stop on a Toyota pickup truck, detaining three teens at gunpoint. The suspected attacker was handcuffed and transported to the sheriff’s station for booking. Residents living along Garnet Canyon Drive say the incident is just the latest in a string of “wild parties” that have plagued the neighborhood for months. Speaking off-camera, several homeowners described recurring weekend scenes involving underage drinking, loud fights, reckless driving, and discarded contraceptives and alcohol bottles strewn across the community playground. “This isn’t just kids being kids,” one frustrated homeowner told Key News. “This is dangerous, and someone’s going to get killed if it keeps up.” Residents are calling for a more permanent solution to stop the weekly disturbances. The investigation into Saturday night’s assault remains ongoing.
