Dinosaur Crashes SWAT Truck at Sandy Springs Community Event
SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — A National Night Out event took an unexpected turn when a dinosaur—well, someone dressed as one—popped its head into the Sandy Springs Police Department’s SWAT BearCat vehicle, giving officers and attendees a good laugh.
The surprise visit happened as SWAT officers were on break during the community gathering Tuesday evening. One officer was mid-meal, hot sauce bottle nearby, when the giant reptilian head appeared.
“We can neither confirm nor deny that tactical snacks were nearly lost in the process,” the department joked in a social media post. The lighthearted moment added a humorous twist to the event, which is designed to build police-community relationships.
“Note to self,” the department added, “Add ‘giant reptiles’ to the SWAT training manual.”
