HOUMA, La. — An alligator found strolling down Morrison Avenue in Houma received a lighthearted “citation” after a local officer safely removed the reptile from the roadway.

According to the Houma Police Department, Officer Donald Aubrey responded to the scene and took the alligator “into custody” without incident. In a humorous social media post, police noted that after a brief “conversation,” the alligator was issued a summons for jaywalking and released back into its natural habitat.

The playful encounter offered a moment of levity and a reminder of the unexpected wildlife calls local officers often face.
