This is the hilarious moment a giant squid squirted ink all over a fisherman's face as he proudly showed off his massive catch.

Footage shows the sea creature being patted by trawler Cris Anthony Rio, just before it unleashed a thick black cloud in Romblon, the Philippines.

Cris was caught off guard and became drenched in the dark liquid that covered his face and body, forcing him to put the marine animal down on the boat floor.

He coughed and appeared to want to puke, trying to shake off the ink that had gotten inside his mouth.

Cris said: ‘It tasted disgusting. I could not eat seafood for a few days after that.'

He desperately tried to wipe all of it but the substance left a dark stain on August 10.

Cris was also shouting and taking deep breaths while his friend can be heard laughing on the other side of the vessel.
