This is the nerve-wracking moment a wild boar pushed open a door and startled a sleeping shopkeeper.

The curious beast entered through the grocery store's glass door and wandered inside the building in Jiangsu, China.

CCTV footage shows the creature slowly pacing while the resting man slouches behind the counter on July 31.

Hearing the boar's footsteps, he jolted awake but stayed frozen in place.

Meanwhile, the frantic hog, trapped inside the shop, tries to find a way out.

The store clerk glanced around as the fast hoofbeats continued, then spotted the creature, causing him to leap in his seat in fright.

As the animal approaches the front of the counter, he scrambles onto the desk, clearly worried the boar might attack.

Concerned passersby gathered at the front door, ready to open it. However, before they could act, the boar suddenly turned, crashed into the door, and fled the store.

No serious injuries were reported from the encounter.
