Passing boat saves four anglers thrown into sea from collision
This is the dramatic moment a passing boat rescued four fishermen thrown overboard in a collision in Thailand.
Footage shows the vessel arriving after spotting the stranded anglers drifting off Chong Samaesan village in Chonburi on Monday.
The fishermen were found clinging onto containers to stay afloat as the crew of a passing tour boat dragged them to safety.
The sunken fishing vessel was seen overturned in the water.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Sila Sajai, superintendent of the Sattahip Police Station, said rescuers were dispatched after police received a distress call at 1 pm local time.
Fisherman Khanathip Euarak-olarn, 43, said a large tour boat was departing from a pier when it crashed into their vessel, which was travelling through the Ang Sila area.
He said: 'Our crew tried to start the engine to get away, but the pullstring snapped, so we waved to signal the approaching boat.
'It didn't stop so we grabbed our fishing gear and tried to escape before the impact. After the collision, the tour boat tossed us life vests and sped off. Another boat came to help.'
Authorities said they were tracking down the tour boat and its crew for questioning.
