China: Giant panda Ling Yan celebrates eighth birthday in Henan
Giant panda Ling Yan turned eight on Monday at Zhuhai (Bamboo Sea) Wildlife Zoo in Luanchuan County of Luoyang City in central China's Henan Province, attracting numerous visitors who came to offer their blessings. Zoo Keepers decorated the habitat with a 60 centimeters tall ice cake filled with bamboo and fruits. Visitors snapped photos to capture the "birthday star's" adorable moments. "I came from Beijing just for his birthday! Happy birthday to our precious Ling Yan!" said a visitor from Beijing. "Ling Yan has lived in Henan for five years. He is perky and adorable! I'm so happy for him," said another visitor. Born on August 18, 2017 at the Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP) in southwest China's Sichuan Province. Ling Yan settled at the park in Henan in September 2020. His skills, like pushing a cart "selling" treats and "singing" while bathing, won public affection and made him an online sensation.
