This is the dramatic moment a Tibetan brown bear broke into a visitor centre before being driven out.

A group of brave men chased the cub out of the lobby at the Sapu Sacred Mountain Visitor Centre in Tibet, China.

Footage shows the juvenile bear frantically sprinting out of the area while locals pursued it on August 8.

One of the guests even threw a metal chair at the beast while the remaining four men continued following the animal outside.

The onlooker who recorded the video said they were eating when someone shouted that a bear had entered the building.

He added: 'They picked up sticks and other hard objects, banging them together to make loud noises while also throwing things at the animal until it ran away.'

A man wearing a black jacket, who was involved in the chase, said he was not afraid when the bear entered and that it appeared more scared than the people inside.

No one was reportedly injured in the encounter.

Local herders are said to be accustomed to driving bears away when they approach settlements.

Tibetan brown bears are generally docile and usually do not harm people unless a mother is protecting her cubs. However, the black variety is more aggressive and should be avoided.

These creatures typically inhabit coniferous forests, cold deserts, and grassland meadows at altitudes of 9,842 to 16,404 ft (3,000 to 5,000 meters).

Tibetan bears are considered rare and listed as a second-level protected animal in China's National List of Key Protected Wildlife. They are also included in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
