GAZA, PALESTINE - AUGUST 20, 2025: As Israel continues its genocide in the besieged Gaza Strip, tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in Khan Younis were once again targeted by Israeli forces on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

At least six Palestinians were killed after Israeli forces attacked tents housing displaced families in the Qarara town of eastern Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

In a separate attack, nine more Palestinians were killed when Israeli warplanes struck tents sheltering displaced families in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis. An Israeli aircraft also targeted another tent in al-Mawasi, injuring 12 people.

Scenes from Nasser Hospital show a grieving Palestinian father carrying the dead body of his daughter in his arms before placing her into a body bag, while severely injured children receive treatment and most patients are treated on the floor due to overcrowded conditions.

The Israeli army has pursued its genocide on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, killing at least 62,122 people and injuring more than 156,700 others, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
