VARIOUS DRONE SHOTS OF YEMENIS PROTESTING IN SOLIDARITY WITH PALESTINE SANAA, YEMEN - AUGUST 22, 2025: Thousands of people once again took part in a mass demonstration in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, on Friday to show solidarity with Palestinians. Gathering at Sabeen Square, protesters denounced the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip. They also condemned Israel’s policy of starvation and its plans to occupy the besieged enclave. The UN agency for Palestinian refugees confirmed on Friday that famine in Gaza was deliberately caused by the Israeli government, following a formal confirmation by the UN-backed global hunger monitoring system IPC. Gaza’s Health Ministry said at least 271 people, including 112 children, died of starvation and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip. Israel has killed more than 62,300 Palestinians in its ongoing genocide in Gaza since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
