Hongkongers, dissident Chinese, Tibetan, Uyghur, and local residents were amongst those who joined the march against the proposed plans for a Chinese mega-embassy at the Old Royal Mint Court site in Tower Hill (August 23).

Hundreds turned out for the demonstration march from the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office to Whitehall where speakers adressed the crowd.

A decision was due to be made by Communities and Housing Minister Angela Rayner in August but has been delayed until Ocober.

Co-founder of Hong Kong Watch Benedict Rogers spoke about the Chinese government's redacted parts to the embassy building plans, sparking concern with those opposed to it.

The rally was closed by the singing of banned anthem 'Glory to Hong Kong'.
