Images projected onto Chinese Embassy building by activists on 34th anniversary of Tiananmen Square crackdown
A series of images related to the Tiananmen Square crackdown were projected onto the Chinese Embassy building in London on the 34th anniversary (June 4).
The illustrations depicted military tanks, injured individuals, and Chinese characters spelling out: 'Don't want to remember, dare not forget'.
Hong Kong, mainland Chinese dissidents, Uyghur, Tibetan and Taiwanese activists had earlier gathered to mark the day in 1989 when student-led protests in Beijing were brutally crushed after martial law was imposed and troops were ordered to clear Tiananmen Square.
Hundreds of students and Beijing residents were killed by authorities, with the true figure being unknown, it is estimated to be high as a thousand people.
