Runaway dog rescued by passerby and reunited with owner after days on the loose
This is the heartwarming moment a runaway dog was rescued by a passerby and reunited with his owner after days on the loose.
Kim Zialcita spotted a rider attempting to calm Eggsy, the soaking wet brown Shih Tzu, near Terminal 3 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, the Philippines.
Footage shows Kim speaking with the man in a raincoat before approaching the visibly distressed dog on August 31.
Both men can be seen cornering Eggsy near a tree with a cloth before placing him on a sack. Kim then brought the dog home to feed and bathe him.
In another clip, the rescuer's pet cats can be seen curiously sniffing the carrier with the dog inside.
He then unzipped the bag to let the dog wander around his home.
Kim and his wife even went to a drive-through to treat the hungry dog to a fast-food meal.
The kindhearted man then posted about the dog on social media, where his keeper immediately reached out.
Worried owner Jerimy Magallanes, along with his wife, went to Kim's house to retrieve Eggsy on Monday.
Kim said: 'I made sure they were Eggsy's owners before handing him over. I'm glad he is okay now, and I'm very happy that he has been reunited with his family.'
