US, Los Angeles: Hemet The Myers Fire Wildfire Burns Over 100 Acres

Los Angeles, United States - September 03, 2025 09/03/2025 01:09 pm GMT-0700 HEMET, Calif. – Firefighters are working to contain the Myers Fire, a fast-moving brush fire that broke out Wednesday afternoon in Hemet. The blaze was first reported at 1:09 p.m. near Rose Road and Myers Street, on the west side of the city, according to CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department. By late afternoon, the fire had scorched approximately 90 acres of dry vegetation. Evacuations were underway for residents in the immediate area as crews raced to halt the fire’s spread. Ground resources, supported by air tankers and helicopters, were working to establish containment lines while protecting homes and infrastructure. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries have been reported at this time. Authorities urge residents to remain alert, follow evacuation orders, and monitor official updates as conditions can change rapidly. Cal Fire Riverside, Hemet Fire Dept, and Hemet Police were all at the scene. Shortly after 4:30 p.m., Watch Duty reported that forward progress of the fire had been stopped at 120 acres. Around 5:30 p.m., the evacuation order had been lifted. No evacuations remain.
