Kraynovo, Bulgaria - September 05, 2025 A new section of a sensor line has been opened on the Bulgarian-Turkish border, which is supposed to make it more difficult for illegal migrants to cross from Turkey to Europe. This is a video surveillance project that Bulgaria is implementing for 170 million leva, covering 100 km, where there is no surveillance. The goal is to complete the project within years. The head of the border police reported a tenfold reduction in migrant cases over the last 2 years thanks to good work. Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, the Minister of Interior, the Chief of Border Police, representatives of the Austrian contractor, as well as soldiers from Frontex were present.
