Daredevil Günter Schachermayr has filmed his latest Guinness World Records attempt which involved him riding a Vespa atop a huge Ferris wheel.

The Austrian managed to stay on his back at the terrifying height of 68.5 metres as he scaled the Viennese Giant Ferris Wheel.

Despite extreme weather conditions, the Upper Austrian completed the feat for a good cause, despite strong gusts of wind and rain/extreme heat.
The team around Günter Schachermayr obtained countless permits for this unusual world record attempt before this legendary record attempt could be launched. Only through professional preparation could numerous supporters, including the Lamac family – the owners of the Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel – be convinced that no one would be harmed during this world record attempt. A technical inspection by Mr. Schwarz, a graduate engineer (Dipl.-HTL-Ing.), was on site when the Vespa was mounted on the specially constructed platform9, was absolutely necessary.
After everything was meticulously documented with photos and the technical representative had demonstrated his skills, this charity world record attempt could begin. The company MUZ GmbH from Basen (Vorarlberg) gave this stunt incredible wings with a sensational total donation of €1,250 to the "Red Noses" association in Austria, which will help bring smiles to the faces of many sick children by accompanying the Red Noses teams! The goal of this world record attempt was to ride around the Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel in a circle while sitting on a Vespa for every meter traveled. €1 will be donated to the Red Noses association for every meter traveled. The starting gun fired at exactly 9:00 a.m., and already during the initial phase, as we headed uphill, my heart rate and blood pressure began to spike sharply.
After that, I immediately asked myself whether it was really a good idea to ride on the outside of the world's oldest Ferris wheel without Günter, because shortly afterward, my hands on my Red Bull Vespa cramped. The problem is: THERE'S NO TURNING BACK
