A pet owner has found a clever hack to treat his cats' cold by placing the felines inside a bottle.

Jay Marthin and his family treated their three Persian cats at home using containers to restrain them in Albay, the Philippines, on October 8.

Footage shows the three-month-old siblings, Tsuki and Usagi, being placed inside a seven-gallon empty bottle while a woman inserted the tube into a hole to direct the nebuliser's vapour.

The kittens can be seen sitting calmly inside, visibly confused by the vapour entering the bottle.

In another clip, the kittens' father, Ginger, is placed in a small storage box for the treatment.

Jay said: 'Our cats often get colds due to changes in the weather, so during emergencies, we use home remedies. Their veterinarian also advised this, and we make use of what we already have at home, like used bottles.

'We do all these efforts because they're not just pets, they're part of the family and deserve to be taken care of.'
