VARIOUS OF PROTESTERS HOLDING ANTI-WAR BANNERS, PALESTINIAN FLAGSBEIRUT, LEBANON - SEP. 15: On Monday, Sep. 15, Lebanese doctors rallied in Beirut’s Martyrs’ Square to demand an end to Israel’s attacks on Gaza. The protest, organized by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and the Palestinian Red Crescent, brought dozens of physicians carrying banners and chanting against the war. Doctors urged world leaders meeting at the upcoming UN General Assembly to act immediately, saying safe corridors for humanitarian aid must be opened and Israel’s attacks halted. The demonstrators marched under the slogan: “Doctors cannot stop genocide, world leaders can.” Israel has killed nearly 65,000 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
