6. VARIOUS OF CHILDREN WAITING WITH THEIR POTS / SOME OF THEM EATING GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - SEPT. 21, 2025: A charity organization distributed hot meals on Sunday, Sept. 21, to displaced Palestinians in Gaza’s central Zawayda area, where Israel’s blockade has left families struggling with severe hunger.
Most of those waiting in the scorching sun for hours were children, many of whom were seen scooping the last grains left at the bottom of cooking pots.
With no access to basic food supplies, people waited under the scorching sun for hours to receive a single bowl of food.
Israel’s restrictions on aid entering Gaza by land and air continue to block critical humanitarian relief, worsening a crisis already described by international agencies as catastrophic.
The blockade has forced thousands into food insecurity, with displaced families increasingly dependent on sporadic charity distributions.
Since the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared famine in Gaza last month, 162 people have died, among them 32 children.
Since March 18, the Israeli army has resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip, killing at least 12,724 people and injuring 54,534 others, shattering a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that took hold in January, according to the ministry.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its war on the enclave.
