This was the daily scene at Lopburi, Thailand also known as The Monkey Capital City, monkeys were free to roam freely around the city, and every year they had a big party for them. Fresh fruit frozen in ice was supplied at their main gathering in the grounds of an old temple ruins. This helped to feed them and also cool them down. Local residents had to keep their doors and windows locked at all times. They even ventured out on the streets and mingled and got up to all sorts of mischief with unsuspecting humans. They were even two rival gangs of monkeys that used to fight with each other. However now I believe it's more peaceful here as they had to relocate them in order to maintain a safe and peaceful atmosphere. I need to go back and check this soon for myself. Amazing Thailand!
