United States - October 01, 2025 Just after 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, FDNY units responded to reports of an explosion at 207 Alexander Avenue in the Bronx. The blast caused a structure attached to the building to collapse. No injuries have been reported from the incident. Fire Commissioner Robert Tucker said the department arrived in less than four minutes. Numerous FDNY and EMS units quickly responded. Dogs were used to search the pile of bricks, which officials identified as a ventilation shaft connected to the building’s boiler, believed to be the site of the explosion. Tucker emphasized the teamwork among first responders: “While we might have been here first, the fact is that nothing in public safety happens alone, and it's just a really amazing response.” FDNY Fire Marshals, the NYPD, and various city agencies are investigating the cause of the collapse.
