This closure includes the entire Ibrahimi Mosque and its surrounding areas, which hinders the movement of residents in these areas. The closures of the Ibrahimi Mosque prevent the holding of prayers inside the mosque. During the closure period, Muslims are completely prohibited from entering the Ibrahimi Mosque. This has an impact on the temporal and spatial division of the Ibrahimi Mosque. In recent times, especially in the month of Tishrei, the closures have increased under the pretext of Jewish holidays.” 10. VARIOUS OF CLOSED SHOPS IN ALMOST EMPTY STREETS IN OLD TOWN HEBRON, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - OCTOBER 8: Israeli authorities have closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron for two days, citing the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, the Palestinian Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs said Wednesday. The ministry stated the closure, in effect on Wednesday and Thursday, prevents Muslim worshippers from entering the entire mosque complex, including its corridors and courtyards. Amjad Karajeh, Director of Hebron Endowments, condemned the decision as a blatant violation of the mosque’s sanctity and an attack on Muslim religious rights. "The closures of the Ibrahimi Mosque prevent the holding of prayers inside the mosque. During the closure period, Muslims are completely prohibited from entering the Ibrahimi Mosque,” said Karajeh. He stated that such closures have increased during the current Jewish holiday period. Concurrently, the Israeli army imposed a curfew on several Palestinian neighborhoods in Hebron's Old City, including Jaber, Salaymeh, and Wadi al-Hussain. The measures have restricted the movement of thousands of Palestinian residents while Israeli settlers move freely in the area. The Ibrahimi Mosque, known to Jews as the Cave of the Patriarchs, was divided by Israeli authorities in 1994, with 63% of the site allocated for Jewish prayer and 37% for Muslim prayer.
