On October 7, near the Jingdezhen North High-Speed Railway Station in Jiangxi Province, an electric car went airborne at a crossroads after the driver lost control while driving downhill. The vehicle soared to a height of about 4 metres, narrowly missing another car before crashing into a roadside billboard.

Witness Mr. Hong said it was a single-vehicle accident, describing the moment the car suddenly shot off the slope as “terrifying.” Another witness compared the car’s flight to “an arrow released from a bow,” saying it was completely airborne before hitting the ground with a deafening crash.

The driver was trapped inside due to the car’s deformation but miraculously escaped with only a leg injury. A motorist traveling in the opposite lane said the airborne car passed just 2 or 3 metres above his head, “thinking about it still makes me shiver.”

Police confirmed on October 8 that the incident is under investigation and that the driver is not in life-threatening condition.
