US, Bakersfield: Lost Hills Semi-Truck Crash Leaves Driver With Life-Threatening Injuries With Helicopter Transport
Bakersfield, United States - October 24, 2025 10/23/2025 10:58 pm GMT-0700 LOST HILLS, Calif. – California Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving a semi-truck and a car on northbound Interstate 5, just south of Highway 46, that occurred late Wednesday night. A Scion was severely damaged when it collided with the back of the semi-truck, leading to the driver being ejected and sustaining major life-threatening injuries. Paramedics and firefighters worked to stabilize the injured driver, who was then transported by Helicopter Mercy Air 15 to a medical facility in Bakersfield. The investigation is ongoing, and it remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. Northbound Interstate 5 was shut down for an extended period while emergency personnel tended to the victim, as the helicopter landed in the northbound lanes.
