A powerful gust of wind knocked a woman off her motorcycle in Brazil.

CCTV footage shows the female motorist travelling slowly in traffic when a sudden burst of dusty storm swept through Picos City on October 23.

The force of the gust flipped the female driver's two-wheeler onto its side, causing her to stumble and fall.

She backed away and stood around 15ft (5m) from her vehicle until the storm passed, under a minute later.

Local climatologist Sara Cardoso said: ‘Picos has unique characteristics. It lies in a valley with little vegetation and many open spaces. This environment contributes to pressure differences that intensify the wind.

'As a result, gusts that were already expected can turn into localised gales within the municipality, reaching higher speeds more noticeably.'

A gale is a strong, sustained wind that is more powerful than a regular breeze but weaker than a storm or hurricane.
