This is the dramatic moment a massive avalanche roared down one of the world's highest mountains - sending a towering cloud of snow into a camp of trekkers and guides.

The incident happened on October 26 at North Annapurna Base Camp, situated at roughly 4,100 meters on the northern side of Annapurna I in Nepal's Myagdi District.

Footage shows a huge wall of snow breaking loose high on the mountain's steep face before rushing down toward the base camp.

Within minutes, a vast white powder cloud surged forward and slammed directly into the camp, completely swallowing the tents and turning the landscape white as visibility drops to zero.

Trekkers and guides at the camp were hit by a powerful rush of wind and snow but despite the terrifying scene, no injuries were reported.
