1.VARIOUS OF TRUCKS LOADED WITH HUMANITARIAN AID AND UNITED NATIONS (UN) VEHICLES PASSING ON ROAD KHAN YOUNIS, GAZA, STRIP, PALESTINE - NOV. 2: Limited humanitarian and medical aid trucks continued to enter the Gaza Strip on Sunday, Nov. 2, under a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
According to local sources, trucks carrying food supplies and tent materials organized by the UN World Food Program (WFP) entered Gaza through the Kerem Shalom (Kerem Abu Salem) crossing.
The aid is part of ongoing international efforts to deliver essential supplies to civilians in the blockaded enclave.
Earlier Sunday, Hamas said that only around 136 aid trucks are entering Gaza daily, while the rest are commercial convoys that the impoverished population cannot afford.
Under the ceasefire deal, some 600 aid trucks should be allowed into Gaza to meet the needs of the territory’s population.
Last month, former UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, Hilal Elver, said that halting the Israeli war on Gaza does not mean an end to Palestinians’ suffering from hunger.
Israel has killed close to 69,000 people, mostly women and children, and injured over 170,000 others in attacks in Gaza since October 2023
