This is the shocking moment a motorcyclist was knocked over by a truck and scrambled to avoid its wheels.

The lorry nearly ran over the rider on the Banyumanik Highway in Semarang, Indonesia, on October 29.

Dashcam footage shows the heavy goods vehicle hitting the man in a black helmet, sending him flying off his bike and onto the asphalt.

The truck driver managed to brake in time, narrowly avoiding running over the road user.

Moments later, the driver stepped out of the vehicle and helped the lad lift his motorbike.

The motorcyclist reportedly did not sustain any serious injuries from the incident.

Banyumanik Police Chief, Commissioner Hengky Prasetyo, said: 'The incident occurred when the motorcyclist and the truck were travelling at the same time.

'The rider slipped after losing control of his motorcycle, and a truck coming from the same direction hit the bike. Fortunately, the driver regained control and braked suddenly, preventing the motorcyclist from being run over.'
