PROTESTORS HOLDING BANNERS AND CHANTING SLOGANS JAKARTA, INDONESIA - NOV. 3, 2025: A group of Sudanese refugees gathered on Monday, Nov. 3, outside the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) office in Jakarta, Indonesia, to hold a protest against the ongoing violence and humanitarian crisis in Sudan.

“Stop genocide in Sudan” and “Stop war in Sudan,” the demonstrators shouted as they urged the UN and the international community to intervene in what they described as “mass killings” in their home country.

The protest remained peaceful, with participants standing outside the UNHCR compound, calling for greater global pressure on Sudan’s warring factions.

The demonstrators also appealed to the UNHCR to help raise awareness among Indonesians and the international community about the continuing atrocities.

On Oct. 26, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) seized control of El-Fasher, southwestern city of Sudan, and committed massacres against civilians, according to local and international organizations, amid warnings that the assault could entrench the geographical partition of Sudan.

Later, RSF leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, widely known as “Hemedti,” admitted that his forces had committed “violations” in El-Fasher, claiming that investigation committees had been formed.

Since April 15, 2023, the Sudanese army and RSF have been locked in a war that regional and international mediations have failed to end. The conflict has killed 20,000 people and displaced more than 15 million as refugees and internally displaced persons, according to UN and local reports.
