US, Los Angeles: Ventura King Tides High Surf
Los Angeles, United States - November 06, 2025 11/06/2025 03:00 pm GMT-0800 VENTURA, Calif. – A Coastal Hazard Message was issued by the National Weather Service for Ventura County Beaches, informing residents and visitors of hazardous conditions expected along the coast. The advisory remains in effect until Friday afternoon. The High Surf Advisory warns of large breaking waves ranging from 8 to 12 feet and dangerous rip currents. This advisory is in place until early Saturday morning. The Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that moderate coastal flooding is possible and remains effective until 2 p.m. PST Friday. According to the advisory, flooding from seawater is likely during high tide, particularly affecting low-lying coastal areas such as parking lots, beaches, and walkways. While significant damage to roads or structures is unlikely, there is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents could pull swimmers and surfers out to sea, while large waves may cause injuries, wash people off beaches and rocks, or capsize small boats near the shore. High tide is expected to occur between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m., reaching around 7 feet. There is also a low but present risk for breaking waves at the entrance of Ventura Harbor and Ventura Pier. Residents and visitors are urged to take necessary precautions to protect flood-prone property and to avoid driving around barricades or through water of unknown depth. It's advised to stay out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions and to remain close to occupied lifeguard towers. Individuals are also reminded that rock jetties can be extremely hazardous during such conditions and should be avoided.
