Officials say removing the village is the only feasible option to accommodate the growing logistics and maritime infrastructure in the region.

According to the current development plan, the relocation of approximately 1,100 residents will begin in 2028, and the project is expected to be completed by 2033.

Anadolu drone footage captures the village’s narrow streets, churches, and green spaces that will eventually be replaced by industrial facilities.
