Paramedics evacuated a Belgian yachter who fell ill during a trip in Indonesia.

Thonnard Julie, 40, had been suffering from severe stomach inflammation during a voyage on board the Yacht Escape Pod from Darwin, Australia, to Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, on November 14.

The Kupang Search and Rescue Office received an emergency medevac request from the yacht's agent, Mateu, at 10:25 local time.

Footage shows the rescue team making their approach towards the vessel to assist the stricken traveller.

Thonnard was later seen lying on a stretcher as emergency responders carefully prepared her for transport to the Kupang Navigation Port for further medical treatment.

Once safely ashore, the patient was handed over to the ship's agent to ensure her continuing care.
