Jakarta SAR Team Evacuates Six Passengers on a Capsized Fishing Boat In Damar Island Waters, Thousand Islands, North Jakarta, Indonesia
A fishing boat "sea eagle" was reported to have capsized in the waters of Damar Island, Seribu Islands, Tuesday (14/9) this morning at around 05.00 WIB. The ship with 10 passengers was traveling from Muara Angke Port (Jakarta) to fish at 00.00 WIB. Information was received by the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office this afternoon from the VTS (Vessel Traffic Service) Tanjung Priok Port based on a report from Captain KM Tanto Setia who at that time passed by the scene and saw the survivors on board the overturned ship bobbing. RIB 03 belonging to the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office was then dispatched at around 11.25 WIB to the scene of the incident and immediately carried out the evacuation process for 6 (six) survivors.
"We managed to evacuate the six survivors and we have brought them to Muara Angke Port at around 14.15 WIB for identification and further processing," said Hendra Sudirman, SE, M.Sc., Head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office as the SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC). ) in the SAR Ops. He also emphasized that his party will continue to search for 4 (four) more people who are still missing by conducting a sweep with a radius of approximately 2 NM2 around the location of the capsized ship.
His party will also coordinate with BMKG regarding weather conditions in the waters in order to dispatch a team of divers on Wednesday (15/9) tomorrow morning if tonight's search on the water surface has not found any results.

The SAR elements that joined today's SAR Operation consisted of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office, KSOP Muara Angke, Tanto Setia Ship, Integrity Radiant Ship, and nearby fishermen.
