China: Humanoid robots receive training at China's largest base for future application
Storyline: Humanoid robots receive training at China's largest base for future application [Voice_over] When it comes to robotics, China has become a leading player on the global stage. Over the past five years, China has been developing its robotics industry, from innovation and production to distribution and application. Part of that development include humanoid robotic training centers like this one, the country's largest, that just began operations in Bejijing. The 14,000 square meter facility includes more than a dozen training scenarios where some robots learn domestic chores like folding clothes or taking out the trash. Others learn how to work on automotive or electronics production lines. Officials from the facility say so far, nearly 100 domestic service-oriented robots have mastered skills like transporting things, carrying out inspections and handling deliveries, with a 95 percent success rate. According to data from the International Federation of Robotics, a non-profit trade group, there were more than two million robots working in Chinese factories last year, more than the rest of the world combined. 300,000 of those two million, the data shows, were newly installed.
