Youngster wins bizarre 'laziness' contest after lying still for over 33 hours
A youngster laid still for almost three days and won a bizarre ‘laziness' contest in China.
Hundreds of contestants joined the competition where they were to lie on a mattress wearing diapers without getting up in Inner Mongolia, China.
Footage shows some of the 240 competitors at the ground floor of a shopping centre.
They were only allowed to turn over, use their phones, read books and order takeaway food, but they were not allowed to sit up or leave the mattress, including for toilet breaks.
The event was held in Baotou, Inner Mongolia and began on November 15 days later when the winner was declared after 33 hours.
The contest was organised by a home-furnishings brand and this was the third edition of the competition.
Some participants brought their own blankets, power banks and food, and other competitors wore nappies in order to stay on the mattress without leaving.
The organisers said that there was no fixed end time for the contest and it would continue until the last three winners were determined.
Entrants with health issues were excluded and if someone felt unwell, they were instructed to inform staff immediately.
By the 24-hour mark, a total of 186 contestants had quit and 54 remained.
The champion, who received 3,000 CNY (323 GBP), was a lad who laid down for 33 hours and 35 minutes.
