Storyline: China's AI toys draw attention from overseas buyers [Voice_over] Now well into the annual holiday shopping season, more people are purchasing AI toys from China to fill stockings and wish lists. At a recent toy fair in Shantou, China, a dedicated zone was set up for toys integrated with AI and the Internet of Things. From robot dogs to companion bots, AI toys are one of the most popular categories this season. [Sound_bite] Merchant from Spain: "This year is something developing very well with AI. We're very impressed, and we're very focused on this." [Voice_over] And when it comes to which AI toys will be gifted this year, Chinese brands have a massive advantage: low cost, with Chinese AI toys selling for one tenth the price of other global brands. [Sound_bite] Liu Zhenlie, chairman, Shenzhen Toy Industry Association: "Since China's AI technologies have been taking the lead, the costs on AI large models, computing power and hardware can be under good control. The AI toy is a greater transformation and upgrading for the entire toy industry." [Voice_over] Demand for AI toys is expected to grow monumentally in the coming years. According to a forecast by a market research firm, the size of the global AI toy market is expected to grow from last year’s 18 billion U.S. dollars to more than 60 billion by the year 2030.
