A Colombian gang were arrested over the burglaries of luxury homes in Bangkok.

The suspects reportedly raided upscale properties in the Thai capital before fleeing with a haul of designer goods worth 3.8 million baht (88,888 GBP).

Police launched an investigation after the trio, identified as Victor Alonso Bedoya Morales, 45, Ferro Santa Wilson Armando, 41, and Miguel Alberto Cortes Sanchez, 42, broke into the home of an Air Force general and a government official on November 8.

CCTV footage shows the mask-wearing thieves climbing over a low gate and escaping in a white sedan.

The Metropolitan Police Division 2 announced on Tuesday that all three have been arrested with the stolen items - including brand-name bags, belts, wallets, perfumes, watches, and sunglasses - were recovered. They will face charges of 'committing theft in a dwelling at night'.

Police said Victor was cornered in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, while Ferro and Miguel were caught in Chonburi.

An ID card with the name 'Julio Eduardo Garcia Jerez' was seized from Miguel.

Their getaway vehicle, a white Honda City sedan, was found abandoned with a fake license plate at the Ninja Market in Chonburi.

Police Major General Kiatikul Sonthinen, commander of the Metropolitan Police Division 2, said: 'This group of suspects had committed similar acts in several areas such as in jurisdictions of Chaiyaphruek Police Station in Nonthaburi and Bang Sao Thong Police Station in Samut Prakan.

‘They would try to find detached houses in housing estates where the two entrances were an automatic gate for residents and a pass-exchange gate for visitors.

‘The suspects use the automatic gate for residents by taking advantage of the moment by following the resident's car to slip inside.

‘For the exit, they rapidly follow the car ahead.

‘If it was a single entrance gate, they would drive straight through without exchanging a pass.'

The suspects were detained at the Khan Na Yao Police Station for further legal proceedings.
