Storyline: China's express delivery sector continued to expand in November, according to an industry index released by the State Post Bureau on Tuesday. China's express delivery development index stood at 478.1 in November, up 3 percent from the same period last year, according to the bureau. Along with the steady increase of business amount, China's express delivery sector is achieving a dual upgrade in scale and service efficiency through sci-tech empowerment, said the bureau. The index is compiled on the basis of data from major logistics firms operating delivery services. It reflects overall business activities and trends in the country's courier sector. According to data from the State Post Bureau, China's parcel express delivery volume for 2025 had surpassed 180 billion as of Nov. 30. This figure marked a milestone, because it was the first time the annual volume had hit the 180-billion threshold. In the entire 2024, a total volume of around 174 billion was recorded, and 132 billion in 2023. During the peak delivery period for the "Double 11" online shopping festival from Oct 21 to Nov 11, China's courier sector handled a total of 13.938 billion parcels, or an average of 634 million parcels per day, which was 117.8 percent of the normal daily volume, with the highest single-day volume surging to a record-breaking 777 million. During mid-to-late November, the express delivery industry continued to play an important supporting role for supply chain operation, serving the ice and snow economy and the transportation of agricultural products in an in-depth manner, said the bureau. China's fast-growing express delivery market bears witness to the nation's economic vitality and consumption potential. Shotlist: FILE: Langfang City, Hebei Province, north China - Oct 20, 2025: 1.
