US: Officer Dragged By Stolen Car In Terrifying Newtown Confrontation
Newtown, United States - December 08, 2025 Body camera footage reveals a harrowing moment when a police officer was dragged by a vehicle during a traffic stop on Monday, December 8, 2025. Jeremiah Ice, 20, is facing multiple charges, including receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, and failing to comply with an officer, after the incident. Police were alerted by Flock Cameras that the license plate on Ice’s vehicle was reported stolen. Ice pulled into a smoke shop parking lot, and the responding officer followed. At that point, officers did not know the vehicle itself was also stolen. Video shows the officer approaching Ice’s driver-side door while calling for backup, noting the driver was attempting to flee. Ice initially agreed to exit the car but instead instructed the officer to calm down. When the officer ordered Ice to put the car in park, Ice reversed the vehicle, dragging the officer along the side. Court documents indicate the officer sustained minor leg and hip injuries. After stopping, Ice allowed the officer to free himself before fleeing the scene. Police later recovered the stolen vehicle in Forest Park. Newtown Police Chief Tom Synan said, “We are fortunate and very glad this incident ended with only minor injuries.” He added, “All took accountability and in the end made the right decisions. I am confident that there will be lessons learned we all can take away from this.” Ice remains held on a $10,000 bond at the Hamilton County Justice Center and is expected back in court on December 22.
