Baffled drivers were left crawling behind a swan as it calmly took over a busy road - completely unfazed by the growing queue of cars.

Local resident Jocelyn Yong captured the graceful bird seemingly claiming complete control of a carriageway last week (Dec 11) in Nottingham, UK.

Jocelyn said she first noticed something unusual when traffic slowed, despite the road ahead being clear.

She said: "I realised a swan was walking calmly and gracefully along the road"

"It was unusual and immediately caught my attention."

The footage shows the swan waddling confidently down the street, seemingly oblivious to the line of vehicles creeping behind it.

Rather than honking or overtaking, drivers patiently followed, giving the bird plenty of space.

Jocelyn added: "The drivers were very patient. "

"They just slowly drove behind the swan as it walked along the road."

No pedestrians or motorists attempted to guide the swan off the road while Jocelyn was present and it remains unclear how the scene ended.
