A television helicopter made a forced landing in a car park in Brazil after suffering a loss of engine power.

Officials confirmed two people were on board when it landed in Greater Sao Paulo on Monday, December 29.

Footage shows the helicopter stationed near vehicles in the parking area as emergency crews assessed the situation.

A report from the Aviation Safety Network stated: 'A Robinson R44 helicopter, registration PP-BAN, operated by a television network for news coverage, conducted a forced landing in the eastern zone of Sao Paulo, Brazil, during adverse weather conditions with heavy rain.

'The aircraft was performing an aerial journalistic mission when a technical malfunction was reported, leading the pilot to execute an emergency landing in an urban area near a major roadway. During the manoeuvre, the helicopter sustained significant damage.

'On board were the pilot and a cameraman. Both occupants escaped without serious injuries and were assisted shortly after the landing. No fatalities were reported.'

Authorities are investigating the incident to identify the possible factors behind the occurrence.
