This is the shocking moment a mechanic was nearly crushed when a lifted lorry cab suddenly fell and trapped him underneath as colleagues rushed to pull him free in China.

The accident occurred while the worker was repairing the heavy vehicle at a repair shop in Yishui County, Shandong, when the cab, normally lowered slowly, suddenly dropped without warning.

Footage shows the lorry cab crashing down onto the mechanic as co-workers quickly gather around.

Several are seen using a forklift truck to lift the cab and free the trapped man.

The mechanic was pulled out and taken to the hospital shortly afterwards. He sustained an arm injury but was reported to be in stable condition.

A repair shop representative said the cab is usually lowered gradually and that the sudden drop was unexpected and difficult to prevent.

They confirmed the incident shook the mechanic but did not suffer serious injuries on December 28.
