This is the heartwarming moment a father was overcome with emotion after discovering his daughter had returned home from working abroad.

Ovhet Maravilla returned home to find his daughter Paula, who had been away working in Canada for four years, sleeping in her bed just days before Christmas in Rizal, the Philippines.

Footage captured by Ovhet's wife shows the moment he switched on the bedroom light and gasped in shock upon seeing his girl napping.

He can be heard laughing with delight as he rushes to embrace her, telling her: 'I miss you,' before kissing her on the cheek.

Moments later, Ovhet turned to his wife and explained that he had a gut feeling a surprise was waiting for him.

Paula said: 'I didn't tell my family I was coming home from Canada, which is why my father's reaction was so over the top. I am truly happy and touched because seeing how he reacted reminds me that true love exists.'
