A 9-year-old girl escaped serious injuries after accidentally pressing the accelerator on a scooter while her father was dropping off her brother at a school in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

Seated at the back of the vehicle, the 9-year-old went to the driver’s seat and pulled the accelerator. The scooter sped ahead for about 25–30 metres before hitting a heap of cow dung and overturning.

Miraculously, the girl was thrown to the other side and escaped serious injury. Officials said the heap of cow dung likely prevented a more severe accident, as the child could have been crushed under the scooter otherwise.

Authorities have urged parents to ensure children are seated safely and vehicles are properly switched off when unattended.
