This is the hilarious moment a pair of friends toppled over while learning how to ice skate together.

Novice skaters Nurmi and Peem plummeted to the ice after losing their balance at a rink in Bandung, Indonesia.

Footage shows the best friends cautiously skidding across the surface, their arms flailing in the air as they desperately tried to stay upright.

Moments later, Nurmi attempted to pick up speed but lost her footing, causing her to land flat on her back.

Peem, wearing a green sweater, was following close behind and suffered the same fate just seconds later, plunging onto the ice.

Despite the impact, the pair sat up immediately and burst into fits of laughter at the comical mishap.

A skating instructor, wearing an orange high-visibility vest, rushed over to help the girls back to their feet.

Peem said: 'Even though my bestie and I have only tried ice skating twice, I wanted to show off. While we were having fun, my friend suddenly fell. I was so shocked to see it that I ended up falling over too. It hurt a little and we were quite embarrassed, but it made the moment unforgettable for us both.'
