A traditional medicine doctor treated a woman's stomach problems using fire massage technique.

The practitioner, Doctor Nee, first applied oil to the patient's abdomen and made circular movements with firm pressure at the Thanisiri Thai Chinese Polyclinic in Bangkok, Thailand.

She then soaked a cloth in warm water, shaped it into a nest, and covered it with a mesh.

Footage shows Doctor Nee placing the makeshift container on the abdomen, pouring herbs and salt onto it, and carefully setting them alight.

She let the flames burn while the woman relaxed and breathed deeply until the blaze slowly died.

Doctor Nee said: ‘I'm an applied Thai traditional medicine practitioner. Many people also call me Doctor Nee.

‘Fire herbal therapy is a method used to help adjust the body elements of patients. This method has existed since ancient times and is a branch of Thai traditional medicine.

‘It is considered a therapeutic procedure that helps balance the body so that the earth, water, wind, and fire elements are more balanced.

‘In this treatment, fire herbal therapy helps disperse wind, increase the fire element, and reduce fluid retention.'

Doctor Nee said that they consider the patient's medical history before doing the treatment.

She added: ‘Then we examine the abdomen and perform a massage to restore balance, pressing to disperse wind according to Thai traditional medicine.

‘After that, we place the herbal apparatus on the abdomen and light it. The patient feels warmth, not excessive heat.'

The treatment lasts from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the doctor's diagnosis.

Doctor Nee added: ‘Some patients feel the wind gradually moving, and after the treatment, the abdomen feels lighter and may visibly reduce.'

Fire massage therapy is a traditional treatment that uses heat and herbs on the body. The warmth is believed to help ease stomach discomfort and improve circulation. It is commonly used for bloating, pain, and tension.
